Full Description: A partnership between the YMCA Of West Central Florida, The First Tee of Lakeland, Polk County Sports Marketing, North Florida Section Professional Golfers of America and area leaders to bring competitive golf opportunities to area youth. With the support and assistance from Central Florida golf courses we will provide youth with a unique experience that allows youth between the ages of 8-18 to develop their competitive playing skills and expand their knowledge and practice of golf?s etiquette and rules.



The tour presents junior golfers a chance to showcase their skills as they participate in a series of well run tournaments and receive recognition while playing from age appropriate yardages. The annual series of tournaments will allow juniors to earn awards and points for every tournament. The players in each group with the most points at Tour?s end will earn Player of the Year and an invitation to the Tournament of Champions.



By working with individuals and agencies dedicated to helping youth and growing the game of golf, we believe that the Central Florida Junior Golf Tour will play a significant role in developing youth both in the game and in their personal quest to assume meaningful, rewarding and responsible positions in society.

It is important that the Central Florida Junior Golf Tour is accessible to all through affordable fees and /or financial assistance.



The First Tee of Lakeland Mission: The mission of The First Tee of Lakeland is to impact the lives of young people by providing a learning facility and educational programs that promote character-development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.



Additionally, as a YMCA facility we will strive to put Christian Principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.



Polk County Sports Marketing Mission: To recruit sporting events to Polk County and market the county as a venue for competitive sporting events and recreational sports. During the past year PCSM assisted with 150 events which generated valuable economic benefits to the county.

The First Tee Life Skills Program is one of the unique features that set The First Tee apart from many other successful junior golf programs. It is very important to The First Tee of Lakeland that youth not only improve their game through the program, but they also improve themselves through increased knowledge and practice of the many inherent values they learn through golf.
