Wedgewood Golf Course has been bought by a housing development company and is closed for good.

The 18-hole “Wedgewood” course at the Wedgewood Golf Club facility in Lakeland, Florida features 6,402 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 69.1 and it has a slope rating of 115. Designed by Ron Garl, the Wedgewood golf course opened in 1961.

    Wedgewood is closed for good and housing will be built in its place.

    Fun layout, usually in decent shape , but heavily played because of the location. Decent shape, 80% of the time, especially in the winter. Slow play often in the winter, but worth the cheap price. ($25 to $30 in the winter)
